New day, and cooler temps (finally)!

I'm struggling today.
First thing I woke up to was my body deciding it wasn't going to work. My legs ached so bad, I could barely swing them over the side of the bed. My feet, forget about it. Feels like sledgehammers coming down on top of them. My back. Yeah, I'm definitely old, and it promptly announced that to me with a loud crack as I twisted my body.

Then while I'm in the shower, my phone blows up. Buckle up...
The place where I work at closes at 5:00 (17:00). Most retail places I've ever shopped at, try to kick the customers out AT CLOSING TIME, right? There's things that the employees need to do to actually close the store. Cleaning. Paperwork. Return perishable items check. Anyway, there's this couple, the last customers in the store at 5:30-something. There was apparently a problem with cashier ringing up the order. It's not truly her fault. She's new-- started last week. And barely speaks English. Not much of a problem. A fellow Supervisor assisted. This couple decides to go item by item on their receipt ensuring that everything is correct. Before I had a chance to do my job, waiting there, standing there waiting for them to approach the door, so I could verify their unit count. The other supervisor hurdles them towards me after about five minutes of their shenanigans. I check the receipt, and the count is good.

But that's not good enough. There was an issue with the chicken. We only have one Drumstick, not two! Okay, let ME go item through item, since I've worked there for six freakin' years, I know the products. I have a keen eye for detail. Sure enough, they had one Drumstick and one whole chicken leg. Okay, no problem. I'll fix it. But here's the thing, they're gonna start to be rude with me.

Y'all, Karma is indeed a B--. The Drumsticks were $26. The Whole Leg was $42.20 (these are 40-pound cases). They had to pay me $22! And they be like totally upset about it.

Anyway, because of that disaster I forgot to do part of the nightly paperwork. My bad. Oops. Today's my Saturday. I get yelled at via text message.

So from now on, I'm turning OFF my phone while I'm at home. Nobody gets to talk to me for any reason. I need my peace. I'm too old for this crap. I literally broke down crying earlier, because, despite being on a team of like six people, all the responsibility to close the Front End falls on ME. And I'm not even a Manager, only a Supervisor. Every night, I'm the one the ends up cleaning up the messes, ensuring that the store is ready for the next day. I'm tired. I'm so tempted to just quit.

But I can't because this stupid Economy that Trumpturdwaffle got us all into, we're in a freakin' Recession, and nobody's calling it out! And I know I'm too old to be employed. I'm only 50, but that's too old. Why? Because I know better than to be exploited, yet I still am. I still take it, despite knowing better.

*sigh*.

So, no, I'm not doing all that great right now. I'm going to make some English Muffins.

I'm doing okay overall. My aide's been in as much back pain as my neck pain tends to be so I feel kinda bad that she keeps having to come help me with certain things. My neck has been a brat the past few days- I feel like blaming the weather. And maybe I should try wearing a scarf in the house while the AC is constantly on.

Um... Oh. And I've started being smart and *not* sleeping with my safety watch on. It's not like I get up in the middle of the night anyway except for a sip of my drink near where I sleep... And if i don't take it off it chafes my wrist. I'm also wearing it on the opposite wrist recently 'cause the other one had such severe chafing and needs time to heal. Oops. Can you tell I'm not used to watches still?

Any hints on making it do that less? I've been trying to make sure it's loose enough to put a finger through... Is that still not loose enough since my fingers are thin? But my watch has things like a heart rate tracker and it detects if I fall so not sure it'll work well if I make it too loose... Ugh.

And I'm doing okay so far today. Neck still hurts and I'm a bit stiff but... I have DnD today, so I'm too excited to mind. Plus I got a lot of snacks delivered from the pharmacy right in time. (My pharmacy gets lots of yummy European goodies)

You might be reacting to the silicone band. I got a metal band for a while, but it broke, so I had to switch back to the silicone band. I've gotten to the point where I'm just dealing with it. x_x

Fun fact, I hate the texture of metal and refuse to wear it so that'd be a problem for me if I had to. At that point I'd probably just call the company like "hey uhhh can I switch to the lanyard thing?" x3

There are also bands that are kind of like scrunchies. That might work!

There are? That'd be awesome. I should call the company to ask about that. What's funny is when they offered me the watch they told me the main complaint they get from women is it's kinda big for their wrists. I don't find it too bad. Apparently I have a big wrist xD

I'm doing alright today. Really excited to do a test run of Savage Worlds. My Magical Girl Cat Fight scenario may finally come to life... maybe?

I baked a coconut cake for my partner's birthday today. Later I'll see if I can find a horror or Supernatural comic book for her. And of course, try the cake!

Started watching Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka yesterday. It's pretty good. Not bad for a darker Magical Girl anime. Some gore. I think I wrote something about it? I don't remember.

Well, today I made some more progress on my TTRPG! Had some shower thoughts, and they were good ones! Spent two hours drafting the mechanics, then sat here and drooled for, like, five hours as my brain decided to have a fit of mental constipation.

Yesterday, I really wrapped my head around Savage Worlds, and created three characters. I think I'm actually starting to understand the rules-- at least for Character Creation. Next step, I need to have a mock battle with myself to really get to understand the rules of Combat. I think I'll actually create Nanoha Takamachi, and see if I can duplicate her epic fight with Fate Testarossa near the end of Season One. Good thing I've still got a couple more days of vacation remaining!!

Beyond that, I did manage to do some cleaning today. I put away three boxes of foodstuff-- peanut butter, flour, sugar, and some canned veggies and fruits. Tomorrow I'll work on the box of individual serve apple sauce I've got, and maybe find a better place for all the packages of instant pancake mix. I'll eventually see my living room floor!
