Jokes aside, https://tenor.com/ is the site that Discord uses for its GIF functionality. You can go there and lookup your favorite gifs just like on Discord, right click them, copy image link, and add them as an image like I just did! That's probably the easiest short term solution. It probably wouldn't be unbearably difficult to get it to load in-site via an embed like Discord does. Though you'd need to work with their API and resize the gifs to be moderately small in the popup like Discord does I imagine.

So, you don't wanna copy the share url or the embed. Those are for other things. You wanna right click--or press and hold if you're on a phone, and copy the image link ending with .gif. That should do it.

Thank you, Marin, for your detailed instructions on how to post GIFs from Tenor. For oldschool forum software like UBB and phpBB, that's often the solution.

I do not believe that there is a simple solution for including this functionality natively for UBB. The reason that I am not investing a ton of effort into the technical side of the forum at the moment is because I am hoping to convert the forum to a different forum sofware that will release soon. UBB is a lot of fun for nostalgia, but it lacks a lot of functionality that would be helpful.

In the meantime, the solution that Marin suggested is a good workaround. I apologize that there isn't a more convenient way to do this at the moment.

Now that we got the GIF figured out, how do we add pictures to the forum?

I want to add ChatGPT pictures but can't and I've even added them to my photobucket.

It'll be a similar process to the GIFs. You will locate the image that you want to post in your web browser, right-click (or long press if you're on mobile), hit "Copy Image Link," and post the image link (ending in .jpg, .png, etc.) with [img][/img] tags.
