One of my closest friends and my dad both love Star Trek, but I find it hard to get into most of the time. I've watched a few episodes here or there of Picard (mostly pieces while I was bugging dad while he watched) and I did like Lower Decks, but... I've never been huge on sci-fi in general in terms of live action, nor novels x3 I like it in anime and manga though. It's weird.
